Digital library (or e-library) is a special library with a collection of digital objects that includes white papers, additional reading materials, articles, videos, and podcasts and eLearning modules.

Instructional Design Certification (IDC) digital library is an addition along with the IDC Manual. It includes additional learning materials that have been well researched to match up the content in the manual. The additional information includes both the content of the manual as well as extra information that is beyond the purview of the manual. The purpose of having such a library is to enhance the knowledge of the participants and therefore, it is recommended that one goes through it.

IDC Digital Library includes 6 eLearning modules created by Strengthscape. Remaining are all publicly available videos. The 6 modules by Strengthscape and the module to which it pertains to is as follows:
• What is Instructional Designing? (Module 1)
• Attention and Instructional Designing (Module 2)
• Gagne’s Nine Events Model (Module 2)
• How to Create a Storyboard (Module 3)
• Game on eLearning principles (Module 4)
• Sample simulation exercise (Module 5)

The ideal way of using the Digital Library is to first finish reading the manual and then going through only that content in the library which is in line with the manual. Only after clearly understanding the basics, the participants are recommended to go through the additional information.

In the long run, the content of the Digital Library can be used by the participants in the final project which is a part of the certification and also in actual projects with clients. The Strengthscape IDC Digital Library will be made available to the participants for a period of one year.

Please note that the final assessment for the certification will be completely based on the manual and will not include the additional information highlighted in the Digital Library. Digital Library is a supporting asset and will help in enhancing knowledge about the topics covered in this course.
