Individual ContributorsOvercoming Unconscious Bias with Diversity is a cutting-edge webinar-based program for all professionals. This program helps relate to all kinds of people, build strong interpersonal skills, improve decision-making and problem solving and build rapport in cross-cultural situations, use diplomacy, and build trust in everyday transactions at the workplace.
There are so many variables at play when we make everyday decisions that it’s incredibly hard to identify anyone’s reason for making bad decisions. Cognitive bias, specifically unconscious bias, could contribute significantly to errors of judgment. Biases are a collection of faulty ways of thinking that are apparently hardwired into the human brain. Evolutionarily, biases allow us to use prior knowledge and experiences and drive our decisions and actions in the present. While biases may have immense evolutionary and physiological value, it’s not recognizing biases that can lead to bad decisions at work. When left untethered, biases can seep into every decision making, group priorities, organization culture, hiring, and management and lead to sub-optimal working environments.
In this program, our experts will enable the participants to establish the evolutionary value of cognitive bias, and how they interfere with our decisions and share tips on how to overcome these biases in individual and group contexts. When viewed from the lens of solutions, cognitive bias can be overcome by bringing diverse views to the table. Companies with diverse and inclusive teams lead to better business decisions. Diversity, of all kinds, is helpful in breaking biased attitudes and in promoting a more balanced way of decision making.
