We all make career decisions at some point in our lives. Choosing the right career requires deliberate planning and introspection. Other than your technical skills or job demands, personality plays a big role in career choices. Each of us is unique, and we all have different skills and personalities. We can also determine the best career path based on personality traits. There is a popular theory known as the RIASEC model that considers both personality and environment in determining career preferences. The model was developed by John Holland. Based on six personality types, it is possible to determine the right career path for each individual.

In comparison with other personality tests, the RIASEC tests are particularly good at helping people pick a career – which is what they were designed to do.

There are six personality types in the RIASEC model. Holland proposes six personality types based on differential psychology: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional (RIASEC-model), each thought to exhibit a particular pattern of traits and behaviors.
